Course Description:   This course covers basic animal science and livestock industry material as well as current issues in animal agriculture. The course includes information students need to know about livestock and poultry husbandry & management for classroom study and beyond. In this course, students will gain a solid understanding of nutrition, feeding, and reproduction of a variety of livestock species to maintain a productive animal. Students will also explore advancements in animal husbandry & management due to the implementation of cutting-edge technology.

Course Description:  This course prepares students to take a technical college or other training program for nursing assistants.  CNA Prep ensures students have the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to successfully complete a technical college or other training program for Certified Nursing Assistants.  A state exam is required to become certified and cannot be completed without first passing a state-approved program.  Students interested in learning more about the nursing or medical field may find this course beneficial.  Working as a CNA while in high school and/or college can also set the stage for a successful transition into four-year and beyond nursing and medical programs.

The course includes the latest trends in hardware, security, virtualization, coverage of cloud computing, Linux and Mac OS, and increased emphasis on mobile devices.  This course prepares students for the CompTIA A+ Certification.

From economics in the world of business, money, banking, and finance, students will see how economics is applied both domestically and globally. Students will also study how the government is involved in establishing economic stability in the American free enterprise system as well as how the U.S. economy has a global impact.

Over the year, we will focus on four themes: government and politics, conflicts, immigration/migration, and social movements.
