This program is designed to prepare you for the safety measures and needs within any job site. It will also prepare you for how to handle situations where safety is a concern.

Course Description: These courses provide a thorough introduction to the basics required for the study of the human body and how it functions. Students receive a general introduction to life functions, the terminology, and phonetic pronunciations used to describe body parts and their locations, as well as an overall review of human development and body processes. This course also includes infection control and standard precautions, which emphasizes the importance of maintaining health and safety in the health-care work environment, as well as highlights the latest practices and protocols.

They explore the therapies used by professional counselors and clinical psychologists aCond examine the reasons for normal human reactions: how people learn and think, the process of human development and human aggression, altruism, intimacy, and self-reflection. They study core psychological concepts, such as the brain and sensory functions, and learn to gauge human reactions, gather information, and form meaningful syntheses. Students prepare for the AP Exam and for further studies in psychology and life sciences.

Course Description: This course explores how children and families grow across different stages of life. We will examine the interactions between children and family systems, learn about the various stages and concepts of childhood development, and evaluate the cost of having a child. Through simple examples and real-life situations, students will gain a clearer understanding of how families work and what children need to grow up healthy and supported.

Course Description: Using project-based learning, students will explore the basics of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Students will create documents that will enhance introductory skills such as manipulating text and images to create effective projects in both programs. Students will understand the social and ethical issues surrounding the internet, information, and security. To be successful, students need to commit to the course timelines and guidelines. Students will take the IC3 Certification. This certification consists of three exams: Living Online, Computing Fundamentals, and Key Applications.
Personal Computers: It is strongly recommended that students in this course use a Stride K12 issued computer exclusively for content in this course.
Note: Dual credit can be earned for IT Security Awareness. Must Register with Madison College.

Course coverage spans a broad range of important mental health and human development topics and addresses them alongside their significance for healthcare professionals. Presenting both client and caregiver perspectives, students will explore the behaviors, emotions, physical changes, and coping mechanisms encountered in a variety of healthcare situations and settings while maintaining responsibilities and patients' rights.

Course Description: This course is designed as an exploration of the healthcare career pathways. Students will get an introduction to healthcare careers so that they can better assess which pathway to pursue. In this course, students explore basic concepts in the broad areas of healthcare, as well as career options in each area. Students study the concepts of disease prevention, personal health management, and emergency preparation, in addition to other common health-related functions. Students complete projects to develop a deeper understanding of the roles these healthcare functions play.
