This course is for students who wish to learn core skills in Microsoft. After completing this course, students will be prepared to take the Microsoft Office Specialist exam in Excel. Students work through hands-on projects to sharpen skills in data management, formula creation, charts, and other spreadsheet and database tools. Example projects include professional looking budgets, team performance charts, sales invoices, and many more. This course focuses on and prepares students for the Microsoft Excel 2019 Associate certification.

Course Description:  Using project-based learning, students will explore the basics of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.  Students will create documents that will enhance introductory skills such as manipulating text and images to create effective projects in both programs.  Students will understand the social and ethical issues surrounding the internet, information, and security. To be successful, students need to commit to the course timelines and guidelines.  Students will take the IC3 Certification.  This certification consists of three exams: Living Online, Computing Fundamentals, and Key Applications.

Personal Computers:  It is strongly recommended that students in this course use a Stride K12 issued computer exclusively for content in this course.

Course Description:  Are you crazy about CSI?  Want to learn how real crime scenes are processed and the role of science in solving crimes?  This is the course for you!  Begin your exploration here.  We learn about evidence collection, fingerprints, impression evidence, and sketching crime scenes.  For each category of evidence. we also review case studies to see how these types of evidence have been applied to real-life cases. We wrap up the semester by looking at Forensic Science career options and sub-specialties.  Worried it'll be too gross?  We stick with pretty "clean" types of evidence in this class, though our case studies and discussions do cover serious crimes including murders.
