Course Description: Understanding numbers and analyzing data is vital. Learn the functionality of Excel with our Microsoft certification course. This certification course moves swiftly using project-based learning to simulate the time management and professionalism of the workplace environment. To be successful in the course, students need to commit to the course timelines and procedures. Students will learn advanced skills used by every business to create budgets, utilize data analysis tools, functions, pivot tables, automation with macros to create charts in graphs and many more features. Students will take the Microsoft Certification Exam for Excel.
Platform(s): Students in this course will be expected to access multiple “outside” platforms including GMetrix or TestOut Software, Certiport (for certification), and Madison College platforms, to name a few.
Personal Computers: It is strongly recommended that students in this course use a Stride K12 issued computer exclusively for content in this course.

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION COURSE (FLEXLAB) A/B
Course Length: Yearlong Course
Credit: 1.0 credit
Grades: 11-12
Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of any Health Sciences course at the Intermediate Level
Course Description: This course is designed to educate and train students in the field of Pharmacy Technician. This course is taught in a hybrid model that uses mastery grading. Students will be given a semester course outline for independent study, will meet with the teacher at least once a month. This course will cover the areas of prescription processing, biopharmaceutics, drug activity, types of medications, dosage calculations, and common mathematical formulas and conversions. Students will also learn about HIPAA, drug regulation and control, inventory management, financial considerations, legal and ethical issues, sterile and non-sterile compounding, and units of measurement. After all coursework has been completed at 80% or better, the student will be able to sign up for the Pharmacy Technician Certification exam. Platform: Students will use the MedCerts platform.
FlexLab Component: This course is offered asynchronously. No live instructional classes will be provided. The teacher will be available for support, as needed. FlexLab courses contain two required components - failure to complete both will result in failure of the course:

Course Description: This course focuses on important skills and knowledge in nutrition; physical activity; the dangers of substance use and abuse; injury prevention and safety; growth and development; and personal health, environmental conservation, and community health resources. The curriculum is designed around topics and situations that engage student discussion and motivate students to analyze internal and external influences on their health-related decisions. The course helps students build the skills they need to protect,
enhance, and promote their own health and the health of others.
