Course Description: This course provides a comprehensive survey of all key areas: atomic structure, chemical bonding and reactions, solutions, stoichiometry, thermochemistry, and more. The course uses a storyline structure that connects to real-world phenomena, and answers questions like: How can we slow the flow of energy on Earth to protect vulnerable coastal communities?; What causes lightning and why are some places sager than others when it strikes?; How could we find and use the resources we need to live beyond Earth?; Why are oysters dying, and how can we use chemistry to protect them?; and Which fuels should we design our next-generation vehicles to use?

Course Description: Introduction to College Writing, while assuming competence in basic paragraph and essay structure, reinforces principles of composition that employ critical thinking in reading and writing and develops students' grammatical competence and writing style. Through multiple revisions and workshops, students acquire writing process awareness, self-advocacy skills for understanding and managing assignments, and information literacy skills to prepare them for college writing.

Course Description:  Using project-based learning, students will explore the basics of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.  Students will create documents that will enhance introductory skills such as manipulating text and images to create effective projects in both programs.  Students will understand the social and ethical issues surrounding the internet, information, and security. To be successful, students need to commit to the course timelines and guidelines.  Students will take the IC3 Certification.  This certification consists of three exams: Living Online, Computing Fundamentals, and Key Applications.

Personal Computers:  It is strongly recommended that students in this course use a Stride K12 issued computer exclusively for content in this course.
