Through hands-on activities and real-world scenarios, students will build the confidence and knowledge needed to succeed in entry-level IT roles.

Key topics include computing basics, data value, troubleshooting, and securing devices. Students will gain practical skills in setting up infrastructure, managing applications and operating systems, exploring programming concepts, understanding database fundamentals, and applying security best practices. With a focus on hands-on learning and real-world applications, this course builds a strong IT knowledge base for career development. Students will follow the CompTIA Tech+ curriculum and have the opportunity to earn the Tech+ certification.

Course Description: Students will learn the essentials of network security, including compliance and operational security; threats and vulnerabilities; risk management; application, data, and host security; access control and identity management; cryptography, mobile device security, and virtualization. The use of live virtual machines and case studies allows students to explore real-world security scenarios and allow students to apply what they have learned.

ACCOUNTING A/B

Course Description: Accounting A is the first semester of a two-semester course. This course teaches accounting while placing emphasis on conceptual understanding and financial statement analysis to encourage students to apply accounting concepts to real-world situations and make informed business decisions. Topics include transactions and methods of accounting for a service business as a sole proprietorship. During Accounting B, students will continue their study of the accounting cycle and complete an accounting simulation. This simulation mimics keeping accounting records for an event planning business. This will be mailed to students.

Course Description: This course fosters an interdisciplinary approach to studying United States history, social life, literature, politics, arts, and popular culture in local, national, and global contexts. Our curriculum is directly aligned with fostering students’ critical, ethical, and global thinking. At the core, our courses explore the question, “What does it mean to live in America?” We will focus on the three enduring outcomes of English: reading with intent, writing with purpose, and speaking with clarity. We will also focus on the three enduring outcomes of Social Studies: thinking critically, engaging civically, and communicating clearly.
